Fall 2016 begins my sixth year at TCC, and 13th overall teaching Communication. Beginning with the fall 2016 semester I assume department chair duties for Communication as well as Journalism and Mass Communication departments. I am also a faculty association representative for Metro Campus.

Courses Taught

I teach COMM 1113: Public Speaking in both face-to-face and online formats. These are taught each semester. I teach COMM 2503: Communication Theory as needed for Communication majors, and this is the class that is designed to get majors ready for 4-year university studies in the field.

I teach COMM 2103: Interpersonal Communication in spring semesters, and COMM 2093: Business and Professional Communication in fall semesters. COMM 2093 is my favorite class - we abandon traditional lecture format and engage in round table discussions on important questions related to contemporary communication practices. This is a class for students of any discipline, not just Communication majors.
